Only six and a half days left of school. Some of the teachers are happy and are looking forward to a summer's rest. Some are unsure about what the future will hold for them since they will have no work next school year and no possibilities for a teaching future at this point. It's sad, very sad. So many displaced people, families and careers right now. I know that eventually things will be better, but for the time being we are going to move into a new dynamics that will shape the future of our school community.
As a team it will be important for us to put aside our grievances and take on a new game face. For the most part, that face will shape the attitude of our days, our classrooms, our students, their parents and the members of our teaching community. Those attitudes will be the backbone of our difficult times. Hopefully it will be strong and united.
I work at a wonderful school and it saddens me beyond understanding why what took years to build is almost total dismantled now. Maybe we're all ready to make a change. Maybe it's time we did. Whatever comes though we're going to make through together.
